Student Resources

Learning Centre

Learning Centre

middle libraryThe Learning Centre is open from 8am to 4pm each day, including recess and lunch.  Students access all resources via the online catalogue http://library.newman.wa.edu.au/.  Students can renew loans, add reviews and make requests.

Students can also receive help and advice on how to use various software applications and obtain ideas about how to begin to tackle an assignment or to organise their ideas.  Students can access the online Bibliography Generator via the SEQTA software.

Laptop and ICT Support

Laptop

Students are provided with a laptop to assist with their learning. They agree to use it in a responsible manner and care for it as if it were their own. The laptop is taken home each day and students backup their work on the portable hard drive provided. Students also ensure that the laptop is fully charged when they return to school as power cords are left at home.

Further details in relation to the laptop agreement can be found here pdfStudent Macbook Agreement

The "Self Insurance" program provides a degree of comfort in the event of damage to or loss of the laptop. There is an excess of $200 payable per claim with the balance being met by the insurance program.

ICT Support

Any damage or technical difficulties should be reported immediately to a member of the ICT Team, located in the Learning Centre. Students will be assisted with any problems and, in some cases, may be provided with a 'loan' laptop whilst repairs are carried out.
