Year 7 Camp

Last week all the Year 7's enjoyed a three day camp at Ern Halliday in Hillarys. After a picnic lunch at a nearby park and walk along the beach, we were put into our groups based on our Guilds (we did all our activities in these groups), shown to our dorms and then the fun started!

My first activity was the Big Swing, which was a rope that you were clipped to by a harness that sent you swinging back and forth. This was almost my favourite activity even though I am scared of heights! After that we went onto something a little less challenging, archery. Unfortunately my team lost but that didn't stop the fun that we had. After our exciting day, we got changed and headed to the dining hall for dinner. Lasagne was on the menu! After dinner we had an awesome quiz night. The quiz night wasn't like a test it was more like a whole lot of crazy questions!
On the second day, we had four activities; Beach Combing, Lost Pilot, Caving and Team Building. Lost Pilot involved us finding remnants of a pilot who was dropped by a helicopter. We got to use Walkie-talkies and maps, and it was heaps of fun. Lots of people loved the caving but I found it scary. Team Building was great fun. We got to swing like Tarzan on a rope. After dinner of hamburgers (which were yum!) we settled down to watch a movie.
On the third day we had lots of fun before going home. Abseiling and the Flying Fox were up first. They were both so much fun and the Flying Fox was especially awesome! The last activity of camp was Kite Making. I was sad to be doing the last activity but I was excited to see the kites fly! When we got on the bus to leave, everyone was tired because of all the fun we had and also sad to leave!
I would like to say a huge thank you to all the teachers who made it possible to go on camp and all the helpers at the campsite. I would also like to specifically send a huge thank you to Miss Hunt our Head of Year who organised it all!
