Year 10 Rottnest Snorkeling Excursion Highlights

On Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 March, our Year 10 Outdoor Education Coastal Waters students attended a day trip snorkeling around various locations at Rottnest Island. Over the two days, the students experienced the many beautiful sights that Rottnest has to offer including an abundance of marine life such as crayfish, big buff bream, sea dragons, king george whiting, trevally, cat fish, dusky morwongs, colorful coral and much more.

Our students applied their snorkeling skills learnt from previous practical lessons at Mettams pool and the College pool, as well as performing many expedition skills learnt from theory lessons like leadership, safety briefs and expedition logging.

Some of the highlights of the trip included snorkeling a ship wreck at Henrietta Rocks, finding underwater caves and enjoying the beautiful flora and fauna Rottnest has to offer.
