Term 1 Week 8: From the Head of Secondary

As Term 1 draws to a close, it is opportune to reflect on our progress.

I am delighted to report that there has been a substantial decrease in the volume of students late to Period 1. Students are now very proactive in the morning to ensure they are at class on time and ready to work. I challenge the students to continue with their good work in this space especially as the mornings become cooler in Term 2.

IMG 5674I wish to congratulate the Health and Physical Education Department under the direction of Mr Steven Gregory for their organisation of the Guild Cross Country Carnival last Friday. This is a wonderful community event that gives students the opportunity to be physically active in a safe and supportive environment. Co-curricular events like this gives students the opportunity to connect with each other, challenge themselves and, for some, to show off their talents. As a community, we place great value on the benefits of such events. Click here to view results and more photos from the day.

I remind Years 7 and 8 parents of the upcoming Student/Parent/Teacher Interview evening on Wednesday 5 April from 3.30pm until 7.00pm. Appointments will be made using our Parent Teacher Online (PTO) booking system. Priority will be given to those whose teachers are requesting a meeting. Parents can log in at 4.00pm on Friday 24 March to see if an interview has been recommended. This will appear as an exclamation mark against the subject. If you do not have an interview recommended, you will need to log back in at 4.00pm on Wednesday 29 March to make an appointment.
