SHOPFRONT CHEFS - Assistance from the Primary Campus'

Lavalla Campus and Marian Campus families are invited to be a part of the SHOPFRONT CHEFS project by donating any of the following -
Cans of: Tuna, corn, tomatoes, peas, carrots, other similar vegi combos
Cartons of: Beef, vegetable or chicken stock
Packets of: Pasta, (penne or spaghetti) Rice,
Bottles of: Tomato, Worcestershire, Barbecue sauce
Fresh potatoes, onions, carrots, pumpkin, parsnip
Each classroom will have a donation box in which any of these items can be placed. The next SHOPFRONT CHEFS meal preparation will take place on Friday 12 June, so we would appreciate donations by this Thursday (11 June).
SHOPFRONT CHEFS is a project which operates at Marcellin Campus and involves a group of staff and students, getting together periodically to cook up meals for The Shopfront, which is one of the Archbishop’s Lifelink agencies. The Shopfront was established 12 years ago as a response to poverty. It is the front line for welfare within the community and offers help and assistance to people who may be experiencing difficulty in their lives, for example: accommodation, budgeting, addiction, violence, loneliness, etc.
Here at Newman College, Shopfront Chefs prepared nearly 600 meals for the poor and homeless of Perth, last year and our first cook up for this year is next Friday, June 12th. Staff and students will be cooking over 200 meals, which will be packaged, labelled and collected by Shopfront on the day.
Whilst students at Lavalla Campus and Marian Campus are too young to participate in the actual cooking, they are invited to donate some of the ingredients required and to be a vital part of the Newman Community’s involvement in Shopfront. Thank you for your support of this project.
