Remar Gold Embarkation Camp

Remar Gold Embarkation Camp

On Sunday 15th February, the Year 12 Remar Caravel (Remar Gold) set off to Serpentine Camping Centre for our Gold Embarkation Camp, accompanied by the Year 11 Remar students (Remar Blue). Thanks to past students Teagan Perkins, Stefan Versace, Quinn Koelen and Sam Petrides, who guided us through the camp on the first day. It was a relaxing and fun experience that focussed on the challenges ahead of our final year of high school, beginning with an introduction to the Gold motto of “being a witness in my community” and the values of perseverance, presence and simplicity.
As we moved into the second day of the camp, we began to reflect on our experience of Remar over the past few years, as well as how our Caravel has grown to rely on one another’s strengths and qualities. We were also given the opportunity to cool down by swimming in the pool, whilst others decided to retreat to the air-conditioned hall during their free time to play games or talk with other students.
Our final day of the camp was spent determining our goals for the coming year, concluding the camp with a commitment to these resolutions. Overall, it was an inspiring and refreshing way to begin the year and we are grateful for Miss O’Mahony, Mr Puljiz and Ms Garlick for organising and overseeing this fantastic camp.
Elizabeth Loreck, Year 12
