Remar Blue Embarkation Camp

Remar Blue Embarkation Camp

On the Sunday 15 February, Remar Blue left off for an adventure filled with emotion, fun, and new experiences.
After an exciting bus trip we arrived and were all really looking forward to the next two days. We picked our dorms, had some free time and got straight into activities. This was the first time all of us had been together since last year, so it was a good time for us to all catch up and for our caravel to reconnect.
At this camp we, the year 11's, were joined by the year 12 Gold Caravel, so it was great to meet some new people too. The highlights were playing basketball, swimming in the pool, as well as having jam sessions with all of the ukuleles. We also had fun celebrating Liam’s birthday with tons of cake which resulted in food fight (started by Mr P).
The sessions run by ex-Newman students gave us further insight into our personal feelings and opinions about spirituality and faith. This camp focused on our new motto; "Living as Christ’s Disciple" which was an eye opening experience.
At the end of the camp we read out our commitment letters for the next year in our Remar journey. We are extremely happy to say that over the last two years we have kept 34/36 members in the Caravel, which is the new record for Newman College. Overall this camp was a very rewarding experience as we had a wonderful time with our Caravel and learnt important lessons about faith and sacrifice.
