Newman Triumph in Mock Trial Competition

Newman College has once again entered the Mock Trial Competition, administered by the Law Society of WA, in which over 130 teams are competing this year.

On Thursday 3 March the team faced Scotch College and were delighted to win the trial. The case was ably argued by Ruby Hasler and Catherine Whitely, barristers for the prosecution, ably assisted by Clare Metcalfe as solicitor. Chantal Faundez (playing the victim in a car accident) and Cassandra Paraskos (playing her teacher) delighted the audience with their acting ability as they convinced the court of the reliability of their testimony. Bayan managed the court efficiently in his role as court orderly.
