Minkey Hockey at Newman College - Term 2

Newman Knights Hockey Club will be running Minkey Hockey again on Monday afternoons at Newman College and on Thursday afternoons at Holy Rosary School, during Term 2. The after school sessions for children aged 4 upwards are run by parents from the school Community , and introduce kids to the game of hockey through basic skill learning and modified fun-filled games. There is also a special Minkey carnival held at the beginning of August as part of the Club’s Family Day.
This year children in Years 1&2 are also invited to participate in a team which will play in a 9- a-side modified rules competition, held at Perry Lakes each Saturday morning during Terms 2-3. All children in the Minkey, Yrs 1&2 and 3&4 age-groups who register to play for the first time will receive a Welcome Certificate that can be used to obtain an equipment pack, with ball, hockey stick and shin pads.
The Churchlands based club is thriving and has a true family atmosphere, catering for hockey players of all ages and levels (juniors and seniors). There are Junior teams for children from Year 3 to Year 12, and there are still spaces for extra players interested in signing up, particularly boys in Year 5 & 6.
