Marist Cricket Carnival 2014

Marist Cricket Carnival 2014

The 42nd Annual Cricket Carnival was an excellent learning experience for our boys. Ashgrove Marist College Queensland were fantastic hosts and our students have had the opportunity to play on some of the best pitches in Australia. The boys have been exemplary in terms of their behaviour, sportsmanship and representation of our College. Unfortunately this did not translate into great results on the field, after losing all of our matches against Assumption College Kilmore, Marcelin College Bulleen, Marist College Canberra, Marist College Ashgrove and Bunbury Catholic College.
There were some outstanding individual performances, however solid contributions from the whole squad was needed. With a young team and a focus on improvement through hard training and match play, this experience will put us in good stead for success next year in Sydney.
Thank you to Sam Moylan and Tom Wilson for their leadership on and off the field. John Lucas once again did an outstanding job as coach. John has now coached at 15 Marist Carnivals. It was also great to see many parents fly over to help support the team, especially Rachael Wilson and Helen Adamos who scored all 5 matches.
