Leeuwin's New Youth Voyage Initiative

Leeuwin's New Youth Voyage Initiative

The Leeuwin Foundation has restructured its award winning youth development program to make it even more accessible to high school students across WA. Feedback from many of the private schools in Perth has been that students have been unable to participate in the Leeuwin’s standard 7-day youth voyages due to compulsory Saturday sporting or extra-curricular commitments.
Taking this feedback into consideration, The Leeuwin Foundation is pleased to inform that a more condensed voyage program has been created, taking place on the last week of Term 3. The voyage will run for 6 days from Sunday 20th September to Friday 25th September.
Students participating in the program will walk away with;
•5 WACE points (1 unit equivalent) for students in years 10 -12.
•Further developed life skills including communication, confidence, leadership, inclusivity and teamwork – skills that will provide them an advantage over other Western Australian youth when considered by future tertiary education institutes and employers.
•An invitation to contribute to their communities by returning to volunteer and sail again as crew members, giving the experience they had to other youth.
•The program is also a contributing component towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Queen’s Scout Award.
