Year 4 Red Assembly

The students in Year 4 Red ended the last assembly for the year by highlighting some things they have learnt in Mathematics, Religious Education, ICT and English. The assembly was based on the popular children's show "Behind The News."

In Mathematics, the students spoke about how they have been focusing on mental maths and basic number facts. They shared their favourite 12 times tables song on the app "Maths Rockx" through song and dance. In English, they spoke about Persuasive Writing. The students persuaded the audience as to why students should pick up their rubbish. They also shared an interesting book that they have read during Guided Reading called "Strange and Unusual." The students explained and dramatised two unusual sports: La Tomatina and The Running of the Bulls.

In Term 2, 4 Red were fortunate enough to be chosen to represent Newman College at the Perth Convention Centre to show teachers all around Australia how they used iPads and technology in the classroom. 4 Red shared their experiences with the audience and explained some of the cool gadgets they used including Spheros, Green Screen and Google Cardboard glasses.

To end the assembly, the students created a fun quiz to re-cap everything they have shared.
