IPSHA Winter Carnival Highlights

Last Thursday, our Year 6 students represented Newman College as part of the IPSHA Inter-School Winter Carnival.

In what were very cold and blustery conditions, students played in a variety of sports, including netball, football, hockey and soccer where they played a round robbin against six other schools.

The netball girls had a fantastic day where they were able to show the skills they had been practising throughout the term. They all showed outstanding sportsmanship, shared many laughs and enjoyed the day thoroughly.

The soccer teams had so much fun and the coaches were really proud of their behaviour. They played very well in the windy conditions.

A special mention must go to the hockey team which was the most successful Year 6 hockey team that Newman College has had in many years. Thanks needs to be given to the Newman Knights Hockey Club for providing us with some awesome coaches, James Sitas and Pepi Ott-Kelly.

We are very proud of all students as they played fairly and demonstrated great sportsmanship and what it means to be Marist.
