Girls AFL Dockers Cup Results

On Friday 11 November, Mr Bristow accompanied a group of 22 girls to compete in the Fremantle Dockers Cup Competition held at City Beach Oval.
The girls, who performed amazingly, won 2 games and lost 2 games. The Newman spirit was alive and well.

On Friday 4 November, selected students in Years 7-9 competed in an all day AFL Dockers Cup Football Competition at City Beach Oval.

Congratulations to both the Yr 7 and Yr 8/9 teams who were champions of their divisions. Both teams played with great skill and intensity to go through 8 games collectively undefeated. This is now the 5th year in a row our Junior Girls have won this competition which is testament to the outstanding job Mrs Webb has done in establishing a Girls AFL dynasty at Newman College. Thank you also to our other Level 2 accredited AFL Coach Mr Puljiz who coached the Yr 7 team to victory.

The Marist Football Club are adding new Girls teams for 2017. All girls interested in joining the club should keep an eye out for registration details in the new year.
