Grandparents Day

Last Thursday, the Primary Campus had the most successful Grandparent’s Day. There were hundreds of very happy grandparents and grandchildren to enjoy the liturgy, morning tea and the entertainment, as well as viewing the work and learning spaces of the children.

The Year 3 classes lead a beautiful liturgy and after the grandparents visited the classrooms and grounds, they, along with a saxophonist, a guitar group and a drummer sang “What a wonderful World” to all who attended.

The Marian Campus students had a wonderful time showing their grandparents around their rooms, listening to the stories in the library and participating in the activities in the classrooms.

The Parents Auxiliary did an outstanding job organising the morning tea for hundreds of people, serving and tidying up after the event. This group of ladies are a most valuable asset to our community and we are so grateful for such unquestioning support each and every year.

Winter Uniforms
As the cooler weather is approaching and Term 2 is almost upon us, families are reminded that the winter uniform is the uniform for Term 2 and 3. If there are still some upcoming warm days and students prefer to wear the summer uniform they are welcome to. Whatever uniform they wear it is to be the complete uniform, though all students are required to be in winter uniform by 12 May.

Staff
At the end of this term we farewell Mrs Rebecca Rose as she prepares for the birth of her third child and Mrs Edwina Battersby who is preparing for the birth of her first child. We wish both ladies and their husbands all the very best during this very special time. In their absence Miss Cassie De Abreu and Miss Katya Anderson will be teaching Kindy Green and Year 2 Red respectfively. I know these staff members will be welcomed into the community.

Mrs Dianne Grinbergs, the Assistant Head of Primary on the Lavalla Campus will too be absent during Term 2. Dianne will be taking a well deserved Long Service Leave. We wish her well during her time away and hope she takes the opportunity for some rest, fun and adventure . During Dianne’s absence, Mrs Robyn Hatchett will be stepping into her role and Ms Cindy Carboni will be teaching Year 5 Green. These ladies are welcomed into their new role and our community.

Holidays
The end of the term commences at the end of the school day on Friday 11 April. I wish everyone a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

Term 2
Term 2 commences for all classes K – 6 on Tuesday 29 April. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school for another term of fun and learning.
