Drama Excursions

The Drama department has been very busy over the last few weeks attending numerous excursions with students studying Drama. Year 11 and 12 students were VERY fortunate to be sitting in the audience of the world premiere of "The Rabbits," based on the John Marsden and Shaun Tan book of the same name. This performance was part of the Perth Festival and saw a collaboration between Barking Gecko Theatre Company and Opera Australia. For many, this was their first experience of seeing an opera live and it was a very moving and important piece of theatre. After the performance we were privy to a question and answer session to delve further into the process of devising this show.

Year 11 ATAR Drama students also attended "Hoods" by Angela Beitzen and performed by Midnight Youth Theatre. The students were able to see one of the texts they study as part of their course on the stage which will help them in their studies immensely.
Year 10 Drama students also attended a performance as part of the Fringe Festival. This class saw "A little Rain Must Fall," a high energy devised piece performed by The Actors Hub.
