Book Week Activities - Lavalla Campus

On Monday morning we had our popular Book Week parade, which was a chance for students to dress up as a favourite character. We had characters such as; Thing 1 and 2, Harry Potter, Tintin, Paddington and even Voldemort turned up for the parade. Teachers also dressed up as book characters such as; Mr Men & Little Miss characters, Coraline, the Grand High witch from Roald Dahl’s The Witches and Hagrid from Harry Potter made a special appearance.
After our parade the students enjoyed a show called ‘Shine a Light’ which was performed by Perform Educational Musicals. The show celebrated the Children’s Book Council of Australia theme for 2015 Books Light up our World and was both a gateway into accessing some of the best children’s literature and a story that explored the theme of self-esteem.
On Friday 28th August we will have a second hand book sale in the Library. There are two sessions; 8.15-8.45 before school and during the lunch-time break. All books are priced at 50 cents each and the proceeds will go to the Marist Mission.
