ACC Cross Country Final Results

ACC Cross Country Final Results

Newman College finished 5th out of 56 Schools in the ACC Cross Country Carnival held on Thursday. To finish in the top 5 is very pleasing and testament to all the early mornings and hard work the athletes have put in over the last 2 months at training. This included tough sessions through the recent school holidays. The highlight once again was Ben Chamberlain tearing up the 4000m course to win the final race, the Boys Under 19 event (he has just turned 16) in 11mins 33secs. He was loudly cheered home by all of the squad members who had lined the track.

Thank you to Lisa Webb (Coach) and Dean Robinett for their expert coaching, support, encouragement and preparing the team so that they were in peak form when it counted. Thank you also to Terry Leece, Stacey Cikarela, Shirley Muller and Jason Poore for all of their assistance on the day. Please click here for a complete run down of all runner results.

Thank you to all parents for their support of Cross Country at Newman College. The program gives all athletes an opportunity to test their own capabilities of stamina and endurance in a very encouraging environment. Personal growth is achieved by placing yourself outside your comfort zone and I am positive all athletes found the experience very beneficial and rewarding. We look forward to further improvement and success next year.
