1:1 iPad Minis at Lavalla

1:1 iPad Minis at Lavalla

On Tuesday and Wednesday of Week 3, brand new iPad minis were distributed to all the Years 3, 4 and 5 students as part of a new 1:1 mobile device program on the Lavalla Campus. Newman College is embracing 21st Century teaching and learning to equip our children with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in today’s rapidly changing technological world. We are expanding our teaching strategies and methods to provide opportunities for differentiated learning and to promote a higher order thinking curriculum. The students will investigate how to research, summarise and publish information while creating, collaborating and communicating with others. Having a 1:1 mobile device environment supports a dynamic and interactive learning space in the classroom allowing students to engage and engross themselves in their learning. The roll out of devices has run smoothly with thanks to our IT team, staff and parents of the students involved in the program. We are looking forward to exploring the positive impact they will have on teaching and learning during 2014 by providing effective tools to develop lifelong learners.
